We believe that there is only one true God who created and eternally sustains the universe. We believe that He is infinite and personal. We believe in the persons of the Trinity and that they co-exist, are co-eternal, and co-equal. We believe He is omniscient, omnipotent, transcendent, sovereign, holy, just, compassionate, merciful, and good.
We believe that Jesus is a distinct person apart from God and the Holy Spirit, yet of the same substance. We believe that he was active in Creation as the second person of the Trinity. We believe that He possesses two distinct natures: fully God and fully man. We believe that he was born of a virgin, crucified, buried, resurrected, and has ascended to Heaven where he is seated at the right hand of the Father. We believe that His sacrificial death on the cross made a way for all who believe in Him to have salvation.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a distinct person apart from God and Jesus Christ, yet of the same substance. We believe that as the third person of the Trinity he actively works today to equip the Body of Christ. The Holy Spirit is given at the moment of salvation and empowers believers to live out their faith boldly.
We believe that the Bible (Old Testament and New Testament) is the infallible Word of God. We believe that it continues to be relevant because it is living and active. We believe that the 66 books of the Bible were inspired by the Holy Spirit and were given to us in order to reveal God's nature and His plan for history. We believe it provides us with unchangeable standards for Christian living.
We believe that our only hope resides in the work Jesus Christ did on the cross. We are fallen and sinful and can only be redeemed through repentance to God and through faith in Christ Jesus who shed His blood. When we receive God's grace we are born again to start living lives as new creations who are ongoing in our pursuit of sanctification.
We believe that Jesus Christ's substitutionary death provided us with the only means to our reconciliation with God. We believe that salvation is a free gift and cannot be earned by doing works and is only given to those who believe in Jesus Christ.
We believe those who reject God's free gift of grace and forgiveness will be judged and sent to an eternal punishment.
We believe that the Body of Jesus Christ is the Church and that Christ Jesus is its' head. We believe that the Church should be a pillar of truth to the world. We recognize that our Biblically Centered community will be comprised of people who differ on secondary and tertiary issues, but are hopeful that we can unify ourselves around the primary theological items listed here. To remain unified, we will engage in edifying and respectful conversations, not allowing our theological non-essentials to cause division.
We believe that marriage is a covenant relationship between one biological man, one biological woman, and God Himself.
We believe that God created two separate biological sexes from the beginning of Creation: male and female. We believe that any attempt to challenge or change this is an attempt to self-create and is ultimately a result of the fall and sin.
We believe that God created all people of every race and because of that, every person is to be treated with God's grace. Racism is evil and is the result of sin.
We believe that God lives outside of time and space and that history has meaning. We believe that it is moving from Creation in a linear fashion and will fulfill the divine purpose of God. We believe that God has revealed Himself throughout history and that Jesus Christ will return again. We believe that this should inspire us to live holy lives and to share the Gospel with everyone we know.
