March 25-31, 2024
This upcoming week on our "Biblically Centered Kids" podcast, we're diving into a profound and timely virtue that's essential for families: maintaining peace by letting the Spirit lead our hearts and minds. It’s a theme that promises to offer enriching discussions, memorable stories, and practical lessons for your children, all while providing a framework for peace that resonates with the teachings of the Bible.
We will begin the week by exploring the concept of peace—what it means, why it's important, and how it can be cultivated in our lives through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. With engaging stories and relevant Bible verses, we'll help your children understand that peace is not just the absence of conflict, but a deep, abiding sense of well-being that comes from trusting in God. Verses like Philippians 4:7, which speaks of the peace of God guarding our hearts and minds, will lay the foundation for our discussions.
On the second day, we will share a captivating story from the Old Testament about David sparing King Saul's life. This tale, reimagined for kids, will highlight how David chose peace and trust in God’s timing over revenge, illustrating the power of maintaining peace even in the face of conflict.
Midweek, we'll journey into the New Testament to recount the awe-inspiring story of Jesus calming the storm. This narrative will not only captivate your children’s imaginations but also teach them about Jesus' authority over nature and how peace can be found even in the most turbulent times by relying on Him.
Discuss the daily themes and stories at dinner or bedtime. Ask your children how they felt about the stories and if they've experienced moments when they needed peace.
Incorporate prayers for peace into your family prayers. Ask God to help your family let the Holy Spirit lead your hearts and minds in every situation.
Encourage your children to be peacemakers in their interactions with siblings and friends. Praise efforts to resolve conflicts calmly and kindly.
Engage in peaceful, creative activities together, such as drawing scenes from the stories or writing prayers for peace. These can serve as meaningful reminders of the week’s lessons.
Most importantly, model the peace of Christ in your interactions. Let your children see how you rely on the Holy Spirit to guide you in moments of stress or decision-making.
By the end of the week, our aim is for your family to have a deeper understanding of Biblical peace and practical ways to cultivate this virtue in your lives. Remember, peace is a journey we take with God, letting His Spirit guide us every step of the way. We look forward to exploring this journey together on the "Biblically Centered Kids" podcast.
Warmly,
Jonny & Danika Jordan
We want to help equip your family with knowledge and conversations for you to live and defend your Christian faith.
In recent years, we kept seeing people with our same background walk away from Jesus. In order to prepare our children for the shifting world and culture, we knew we needed to solidify our children's biblical worldview so they will be prepared for the future.
We know it's important to show your children what it means to "live like Christ." We hope that you are inspired to do that with our Biblical Family Virtues.
We reside in Kansas with our 3 children (ages 7, 5, 3). We enjoy being outside and having occasional dance parties.
Blessings, Danika & Jonny Jordan
